We chose to celebrate America’s birthday the same way we celebrate our own – through my husband’s amazing cooking. On the morning of July 4th, 2009 there came forth a slew of deliciously patriotic dishes the likes of which the world has never known.

Falsely Accused Communist Pigs in a Blanket
Thomas Jefferson’s Macaroni and Cheese recipe
served alongside: lovely mini Strawberry muffins and the usual fruits and berries.
We had a couple of friends over to help us eat up all of this nationalistic grub. Later on we took a whack at the Pinata of Tyranny.
You just have not lived until you’ve heard a five year old girl wearing a princess crown cry out “Sic semper tyrannis!” while jovially beating the snot out of a paper horse.
I hope you enjoyed your weekend as much as I did.

LOL! This is so awesome! I admit to being a pathetic patriot, but with inspiration such as this, perhaps I’ll be better in the future. “Sic semper tyrannis!” As a Latin-speaker in a past life, I’m totally loving this one
