Arrived home from work to find them snuggled together in our bed. All three snoring soundly, unaware of the others’ noises. I sit in the kitchen and sip orange juice, typing and contemplating how sweet sleep will be, if it ever comes.

This morning I awoke to the Bear furiously jiggling my leg. Being that I was waking up from about 45 minutes of uninterrupted sleep, I was a little out of it. I asked him what time it was and he glanced at the clock.
“12:02”
“What?”, my alarm clock blinked back at me.
“Mama,” my Bear looked at [...]

We have mandatory overtime at work again.
I have to be here for an extra two hours for the next few days every night.
I will arrive home at 2:15am or so.
I am hungry and exhausted.
Nothing meaningful to add really.
I am happy that I have a job. I am happy with my life. But this not sleeping [...]

Thanks Mr. Dickens for that perfect description. In Kentucky spring has sprung. Our mornings are chilly, afternoons warm and evenings pleasant. The daffodils have their heads up and even my poor neglicted yard is beginning to green up nicely. It’s been so welcome to come outside again.

Kiss the kids, and give them to their grandparents for the weekend. Hightail it up to the mountains and be alone.
Take naps, drink plentifully, eat too much, take long baths.
Get in a hot tub, lounge in a hammock, stretch, laugh, talk.
Breathe.
If you can find a way, make it happen.
I promise you will not regret [...]

Updating to update.
I’d like to send out much love to those who have contacted me in regards to my whereabouts these days. I never thought that not blogging for awhile would prompt such outreach. I was humbled and it made me feel a bit of love in a time that I desperately needed to feel [...]

I would love for someone from the group of people who are against same sex marriage to explain to me HOW exactly someone else’s marriage could possibly, even in the tiniest way, endanger your own?
If someone you don’t even know being able to marry the person they love will make your [...]

I have been going to my chiropractor weekly to deal with a lumbar sprain. Part of my therapy is muscle stimulation, pads are attached to my back and a mild electrical current is administered while I get to lay on the “rolling table” with heat pads….which is actually awesome.
I always take the kids with me because [...]
